The American Bar Association Section of Family Law will be holding its Spring CLE Conference at the Hotel Monteleone on April 14-17, 2010.
This is a great opportunity to network with other family law practitioners and professionals from around the country, as well as a chance to earn CLE credit in a variety of areas (including ethics). Local speakers include Kim Nguyen (New Orleans) and Hon. Christopher Bruno (New Orleans), among others.
The social activities include an evening reception at the Louisiana Supreme Court on Thursday, April 15.

The LSBA Board of Governors recently approved the 2010 Human Rights Award, the first award to recognize exceptional work in the area of diversity and access to our legal profession. Specifically, LSBA will recognize outstanding efforts made by (1) a bar association, (2) a law firm or law department, (3) an individual attorney or judge, (4) a court, or (5) a community organization or individual in promoting diversity in the legal profession, in particular, to recognize efforts ensuring the full and equal opportunity of all persons for entry and advancement in Louisiana’s legal profession. The deadline for nominations for the 2010 Human Rights Award has been extended to March 8, 2010. The award guidelines are attached.
The LSBA wants your help in identifying nominees for the Award. If you are able to complete the Award application, please do so and send it to Kelly McNeil Legier no later than March 8th. If you have the names of possible nominees but will not have time to complete an application, please send the recommended nominee names to Kelly as soon as possible.
The award will be presented during the LSBA Annual Meeting in San Destin, Florida, which will be held from June 9 – 11, 2010.
