Description:

The AWA November luncheon will be held on November 20, 2014, noon, at Restaurant August (301 Tchoupitoulas Street).

Our speaker is David Marcello from the Tulane Public Law Center. David recently spent two-weeks in Hanoi, meeting with government officials and law faculty about how Vietnam could improve the drafting of its laws. Vietnam is in need of a “rule of law” system to attract foreign investment, but both “rule of law” and international integration with the world’s economy pose challenges to Vietnam’s Communist, one-party government. David will also speak about how Vietnam has changed during the four decades since U.S. withdrawal in 1975 and will share some photos he took at the Art Museum, the War Museum, the Museum of the Vietnamese Woman, and other sites in Hanoi.
