As our 2015 Fall Community Outreach Project, the AWA has chosen to help Eden House. Eden House is the first home in Louisiana for human trafficking survivors and the only home for women trying to leave prostitution. Eden House takes a holistic approach to empower its residents throughout the two year program. A comprehensive spectrum of resources is provided, including housing, food, health care, legal services, psychotherapy, spiritual support, education, and job training.
For more information about Eden House, click here.
The AWA is supporting Eden House through donations of requested registry items, gift cards to purchase personal care and household items (Walmart, Target, Costco, etc), or donations of clothing (professional clothing, winter coats and jackets; especially sizes 10 and above).
Eden House has established a registry with Amazon, so AWA members can easily donate requested items.
If you would rather provide a gift card, or donate clothing, you can bring the items to the AWA Holiday Tea (12/17 at the Windsor Court), or contact Community Outreach Chairperson, Vanessa D’Souza:
